How to help
Volunteer to learn, play or teach chess at any of our locations or events.
Community Partner
Business owners can help us out by contacting us to come an pickup leftovers adn overages at the end of the business day.
Yorgoes Bageldashery, for example, lets us come and pickup their bagels at the end of the day so they don't get thrown away! We need brain food and munchables are always welcome.
Mentor
You don't have to know a thing about chess to come and let a child teach you what they know about the game. In exchange, you can teach them about your business, career or life experience.
Help with homework for 30 minutes so our chess kids can begin their game play knowing that a caring adult or "big brother/sister" checked their work or helped them solve an equation.

New Horizons:
Critical thinking comes in many forms and NICE is branching out to help more kids set sail for succcess.
We worked with ODU Sailing Team, United Way of Hampton Roads and Guinness Book World Record Sailor
Robert Suhay to take some future chess players out sailing. This is a program we hope to continue via an ongoing GoFundMe campaign. Learn more and see the photo album at www.RobertSuhay.com
